A downloadable Game

A small Pico8 demake of the classic Atari Star Wars arcade game.   It was my first Pico8 game and was a lot of fun to code.  Everyday I'm blown away by what people create using this virtual console.  Its well worth checking it out if you haven't already.

Hello, Thanks for your interest.  The game is no longer in development.  It was just a little fun project I coded over a couple of weekends, and I never intended to maintain or developer further than it is.  The code is freely available though and anyone is free to tinker and improve it.

For sure this game is Pico8 only as it's specifically written for that platform.  It would take some effort to port it over to different platform.  However Im sure if you look online you may find PC remake of Star Wars or similar games.

The first level should be there so Im not sure they you are not seeing it.

Per my last comments 16 days ago, will there be an update to the StarWars.p8 file anytime soon that also includes the first stage of battle above the Death Star fighting off the Tie Fighters or is this the only version that will be available?  Also there is only one level.  When you blow up the Death Star in the first level that seems to be as far as you can go.

Would you PLEASE provide a response?  A yes, no, or maybe response will AT LEAST let me know where things stand.  Thank you and have a blessed day.... in Jesus name!!!!!

Is this still a work in progress?   I notice it has been quite some time since any work was done on this project.   Can I at least get an answer to that question?

The one thing I did notice is that it starts off on the Death Star Surface and not up in space fighting tie fighters as the first round of play.  Not sure why that is.

I found out how to get it working:

1. once you load the sw4.p8 file you type <cntr> + R.

2. Left Mouse Click button to start game.

Any help from ANYBODY would greatly be appreciated.   I just want to know how to open the sw4.p8 file.   I installed Pico-8, I double click on the sw4.p8 file located in my Pico root directory, and upon starting the pico-8 program at the prompt I type in "load sw4.p8" and get a not found error message.   Please can someone help me here?

How do you run the game once you have installed PICO 8?

Hello.   Is this game going to be available soon independent of PICO8?     If so..... cant wait to download it.   This game brings back alot of awesome memories!!!! Please respond soon.   Standing by.  Thank you

Star Wars Arcade Remake (lexaloffle.com)

Im with you NICO.... would love to have this one in my collection if there wasnt a dependency for pico.   Hopefully the Developer will accommodate us!!!

Makes me wonder why there was never an atari lynx version of this.

Hi there, is there any way we can play this game via a P8 player? If so, do you have any recommendations? I don't have PICO-8 and tried to run the game via LIKO-12 without much luck. :(

This is amazing! I loved the original arcade game when I was a kid and it's stunning to see it recreated so well in Pico 8. It's really incredible how well you've been able to capture the look and feel of the arcade game.
